How To Update Your Digital Marketing Tactics and Strategies

As a Digital Marketer, my professional landscape is always evolving. Every year I learn some new strategy/tactic/process/technique that fundamentally impacts my work.

This constant evolution is a big part of why I love being a Digital Marketer. It forces us to learn and grow. It keeps the work fresh. But it can also punish those that become stagnant or complacent.

Experimentation is fundamental to a marketer. We conduct research, develop a hypothesis, create an experiment, measure results, and repeat. Makes sense that our professions is dynamic.

There are many ways for Digital Marketers to improve their skills. A simple Google search will bring up nearly countless resources, free and paid.

One of the ways that I find very useful to expand my skills et and knowledge base, is to complete certifications of software tools. Not only do you get the benefit of having that tangible certification that you can take with you, but I you are learning from people that have put in tremendous amounts of resources to teach you.

What I mean by this is that when you find a certification course for a tools that’s relevant to your profession, you are essentially learning from people that put in time, energy, and money creating that tool, that market, that content, and that learning management system to get you educated and certified.

That’s a lot of work. And for the most part, what you learn from going through the certification gauntlet is condense, refined, knowledge that you can apply immediately and make an impact.

The Certification Gauntlet

So when it comes time for me to go through the re-certification gauntlet, I always find it much more difficult to think about doing, than to actually do. And these days, the certification process has greatly improved.

I recently completed a series of certifications in Google Academy. This
